EP // BRIEF1 // CREATIVE NETWORKS // EVALUATION

It was great to win the Creative Networks brief. It was a great chance and opportunity for the group to get involved with a live brief and to create the promotional material for the number of speakers Creative Networks hold. From the start, our group worked well within a team environment. We all were efficient wth time management in regards to regular meet ups and working at a quick pace to ensure we could stand out from the other groups, demonstrating to the Creative Network judges that we were willing to go the extra mile and to not only complete what the brief told us too but to go beyond the brief and think about future speakers and how the concept/theme could be easily adapted for any speaker.

Our concept was very secure and tight as we had thought of every step to ensure the process could be efficient for not only us but for the staff who run Creative Networks. After our group produced the promotional material for Mike Mignola, we were disappointed as there weren't any more speakers to come...until we were asked to promote two speakers with both deadlines within days of the Extended Practice deadline. It's disappointing as we couldn't fully concentrate on making sure the content we created was to a professional standard. However, in this situation, we still pushed on and successfully managed to create and print the promotional material in time for the deadlines. Throughout the communication from the Creative Networks team could have been quicker I suppose but with the pressure they must be under it's something that we had to accept.

In regards to what I had learnt from the brief... I learnt about project management the most. After all, we had to make sure the deadline was met so the promotional material can be put up around the college. It was also a great experience working on a live brief with actual clients even though the client was internal. It gave me a lot of confidence to put forth my opinion and to also not be too attached to my work. There was a situation where I made this beautifully dynamic animation that I loved but the Creative Networks staff did not and had to eventually cancel that part of the animation. But that's life and it's something that will gradually become easier down the road.
