This brief is in collaboration with a photography students in level 6. In order to seek out potential collaberators, I advertised on Facebook enquiring to see if either a photography or fashion student wanted to collaborate. The work I was seeking to create was self-branding or the producing any publication. The advertisement was a success, a number of people approached me and I had a lot of options to choose from. Due to having a number of requests I had to first understand if Hannah (the photography student) was the correct student to collaborate with. I didn't want to just pick a random student just to tick off a collaborative brief but I wanted a student who had a similar style and interests as me as this would promote a healthy working environment which only positively affects the quality of work. I knew the possibility of me collaborating on a digital brief was pretty much impossible due to the volume of students not showing an interest in digital design, I could have approached an animation student but normally these briefs involved with animation are based around moving image and not necessarily mobile or web design.
The part I played was to take the photograph provided by Hannah and create a piece of editorial from them. Hannah would direct me while working with me to achieve a look and feel that she felt represented her photos. This also leaves an uneasy element as these are Hannah's photos and therefore creative freedom is somewhat limited due to Hannah's personal and emotional investment within her photos.
