EP // BRIEF 4 // RELATED GAME // BRIEF & CREATION OF IDEA

During the summer I had a light bulb moment. This light bulb moment came when Lois was listening to Spotify and she was within the related artist section, seeking out new artist to listen too. essentially, the 'related artist' section you can start with one artist within a certain genre and if you keep on navigating yourself through this section you can end up on a different artists within a completely opposite genre. In layman's terms you can start with Katy Perry and within 15 steps end up with Bon Jovi. I saw potential with this concept of navigating through different artists to end up with a completely randoms artist once you've finished. With this in mind I began to test this concept before even thinking about creating a brief around it. I gave Lois an random artist to start with and a random artist to find by only navigating through the 'related artist' section on Spotify.  In the end she managed to find the artist within 20 steps and all within a 2 minute period. Looking back this natural process acted as a usability test to actually see if my idea was actually possible and something that could actually be considered as a concept for a game. And with this information the brief was basically created.
