Once the first mockup was completed I sent it over to Hannah for review (see first mockup blog post). Her feedback was as follows:
- Just gone through the zine again, I really like these kinda layouts, not really fond of the full bled images and some of my images being cropped
- Also wanted to change the name to reside and I was thinking rather than page numbers id have like postcodes instead?
- Also thinking about white lining around some of the images or even thin black borders just to break the pages up a bit
- Also not the biggest fan of the font, um I quite like the font Seravak Extra Light, with the heading id also quite like a bit of a spacing between each letter like above
- Also all the written words to be in capitals, I do really like the // between the words on each page
The feedback is perfectly fine and easy to change but her general feedback was lacking a professional quality. She didn't provide much reasoning for a lot of the feedback and on a number of occasions, I had to go back to ask her to expand. The fact that she changed the name of the publication cause a bit of frustration due to the research and initial ideas built around the name 'Occupy'. A lot of the feedback was based on her own interests and not on the overall concept of the book. She reference a number of books she like and it became obvious that she wanted something very, very similar to it.
