Before the finalisation of the mockups can take place it's essential to demonstrate the user journey which the user would take through the gameplay. The most important parts the user would take are:
- Starting the game
- Playing the game
- Pausing the game
- Accessing cheats
Below are snippets of the gameplay which evidence all four user journeys described above.
Starting the game
When the user starts the game they will be met by a login screen. The login screen allows the user to create a profile if they wish. Creating a profile will create a hub for the user collecting points and rewards to spend within the game. The user also has the chance the skip this step. This still allows them to play the game but without having the advantages of rewards. The user then proceeds onto a selection of game modes. 'The original' which is the classic version. 'Usain bolt' is the time attack and 'Don't look back' the speed attack mode.
Once the user chooses a game mode the loading screen will appear. Clearly demonstrating to the user how the play the game before the game loads. This screen can be customised to show the user hints and tips about the game.
Pausing the game
Its important for the user to keep coming back. Allowing them to build up an addictive habit. Another aspect is the stop the user from leaving by giving them an incentive to stay. The incentive, in this case, is using clues and cheats. The user pauses the screen and a free clue is presented just in case the user has paused the screen to exit. This could be due to the game being challenging or even not stimulating enough. The clues make the game more enjoyable and playable for just enough time, so the user to get back into the swing of things.
Clues/Cheats
By using the lightbulb icon on the interface the user is directed to the cheats section. Clues range from free to premium. The free/available clues are clues that have been won or rewarded. The premium clues can only be brought but are extensively better than the free clues making the purchase more worthwhile for the user to invest in. The main reason for the clue is the financial gain. The game would be free to download so the game will be funded purely by the purchase of clues. By making the game free will encourage downloads.
Playing the game
The user will be given an artist to start with and an artist to finish with. Below this will be a selection of four artists that relate to the current artist the user is on. The user then taps on the next artist they want to proceed with. Green bar visually confirms the selection. This process will continue in till the user finishes.
