This brief as a whole has been one of the best pieces I've ever produced, not only in extended practice but throughout my three years at LCA. I've extremely enjoyed the whole process from start to finish. I gave myself 4-5 weeks for this game but as I was into it so much I finished it within 2-3 weeks. I truly embraced feedback for the game. Not only did I get feedback from my peers in the studio but I also gain valuable feedback from a number of studios around Leeds and Manchester. All these studios specialise in digital design and therefore gave me more precise and in-depth feedback, all the way from the User interface to user experience and how the user may engage and the problems they may encounter.
Personally, I felt I grew as a designer, forming more critical opinions of myself and my work. I was able to confidently present my work, my ideas and the reasons for decisions I had made with the studio I visited. There is no doubt that this skill will benefit my confidence once I leave university. The brief sparked a drive to actually try and push the app in the future. I've sent a proposal to a business to see if the app can be built, with no luck but the effort is there and that's a step in the right direction. I contacted so many people from app developers to universities trying to form collaborations, attempting to get this app built. It has been a massive challenge and the results haven't been as I hoped but it doesn't matter. My plan for the future of the brief is to wait till I start my MSc and attempt to find a partner to create the game with.
As I've said before, I've loved every minute of this brief and without the module, this opportunity wouldn't have been available to me. In regards to what I could have done better. I'm not so sure, maybe I could have created a promotional video for the game, I could of but I had to effectively manage my time. Also, I knew making the animated/interactive video would take time so I put all my effort into the animation and sacrificed the promotional video. However, I did manage to create promotional posters which captured the feel of the campaign so the whole promotional aspect was still evident. Overall, a fantastic brief.
