EP // BRIEF 7 // SPOT METERING WEBSITE // USER TESTING

The true objective of the website is to sell the books that author Buhman has written. Now that the website is finally finished we can finally find out if the brief was a success. The way we can test this is to compare the original site to the newly designed site. 

The Test
I asked 7 people this question "How quickly can you find the books on Spotmetering.com?" I then timed everyone too sees how long they took to find the books. I then asked the same question but with tho newly designed site. From these results, we can compare and understand if the user was quicker or slower to the find the books on the new site.

Objective
What I wanted to get out of this user testing session was to see if the user can find the books quicker on the new site compared to the old site. If this is achieved, the overall objective of the website has been a success with a clear indication that the new website is more efficient and successful than the old website. If not then we go get more information from the users and implement that feedback back into the design.

The results are below.
The times on the left are from the old website and the right are from the new site:





































The findings are indisputable. Every person was quicker at locating the books on the new site.
A few comments were:

"The newer site is very nice! great job"

"Finding the book on the new site is very obvious, it's right there in front of you. The old site is basically a maze"

"I don't know why I took over 50 seconds to find the book. It's obvious where the books are once you find them but I just got lost"

"Your site (new site) is so simple and easy to understand. The old site made me a bit depressed"

"I'm surprised I found it that quick, to be honest. This site (new site) makes the books so obvious to find"

"Well, I found it as soon as you said go!"
