EP // BRIEF 5 // RESIDE // SECOND DRAFT

After sending off the first draft Hannah's feedback was as follows:

  • Just gone through the zine again, I really like these kinda layouts, not really fond of the full bled images and some of my images being cropped
  • Also wanted to change the name to reside and I was thinking rather than page numbers id have like postcodes instead?
  • Also thinking about white lining around some of the images or even thin black borders just to break the pages up a bit
  • Also not the biggest fan of the font, um I quite like the font Seravak Extra Light, with the heading id also quite like a bit of a spacing between each letter like above
  • Also, all the written words to be in capitals, I do really like the // between the words on each page
  • I think for the cover I want to have one of the photos of the street signs

It was disappointing to see that Hannah wanted to change the name of the publication after the first draft was created around the theme of Occupying. Secondly, it's all subjective. Hannah didn't go into any detail fo the feedback, it's clear to see that the success of the final piece will be solely down to whether Hannah likes it or not and not down to solid reasoning and understanding of design.

She gives me a font to use, a font that I'm not such a fan off but again, this is where my creative freedom is restricted as Hannah is in control of what goes and my reasoning is wasted breath. Overall the feedback wasn't difficult to implement. The publication started off with a theme and now will end with a book filled with images...nothing mire, nothing less. However, the changes were implemented apart from the white lining around the images as this would have conflicted with the modern/minimal approach.
