EP // BRIEF 8 // CHURCH OF SATAN // INTIAL IDEAS

Idea 1

The first concept is based on what the Church represents at its core. At its core, the church represents self-worship, self-love and appreciation of one's self. The concept will be based around the very idea that members are their own King and Queen. In regards to visualisation, the concept will be shown with two individuals, one woman and one man to first show diversity within the Church. Each person will wear a crown to communicate that they are their own King and Queen.

Alongside the individuals will be their own stories about experiences of the church. This promotes positivity in the church demonstrating that the church isn't full of scary devil worshippers but normal everyday people. The comments/experience will allow non-members a glimpse into the life of a member to put at rest any myths or negative connotations.

Idea 2

The second idea is based around changing perceptions of the church. Non-members of the church see the church as devil worshippers who perform human sacrifices when in fact they represent love and kindness. The majority of the time people don't look deeper than the name, they don't educate or read up on the church. At the current standing, the branding enforces these negative connotations by using devilish and dark portrayals.

To change this the concept is about communicating what the church represents and what they are against. For example, the church represents "kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!" and they are against the killing of " non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.". This is all wonderful but no one is aware of this, their negative preconceptions stops them from exploring further. Through a poster campaign, the church will reach out to people. In a modern and minimal style, the poster will highlight everything the church is for and against. Hopefully, this will change people's minds and finally start to break down barriers which stop people from exploring practices that society doesn't regard as normal.
