EP // BRIEF 6 // HUNGRY HOUSE // EVALUATION

The brief as a whole has been the most difficult, it has challenged me and forced me to come out of my comfort zone. The real challenge was researching; research was essential for the overall progression of the brief. I didn't know much about the iWatch as I didn't own one. This in its self-caused a lot of barriers that I had to overcome. All barriers were temperamental as I eventually worked around each one by implementing an efficient time plan and visiting stores such as John Lewis to have an in-depth play around with the iWatch. With the brief, I was also able to visit digital studios around Leeds and Manchester to ask for their professional advice. Some studios were more positive than others but overall the feedback was crucial to my development and it was the first time that I had received feedback from UX professionals who have a different outlook towards work. They look at the work from a UX and users perspective. This was a challenge as this different perspective was a lot different to what I had been used too, but I had some understanding of user needs so I was prepared to a certain degree.

The brief itself was a challenge, due to designing for the iWatch. The iWatch to a certain degree is still in its infancy with a lot of undiscovered potentials. The iWatch brings with it a unique user base with unique ways of interactions. Not many brands have embraced the iWatch so It was my chance the fully dive into the deep end and see what I could produce. The app I created for Hungry House was the first of its kind. The pattern grid concept was a successful step in ensuring the user could flow through the app as efficiently as possible. By removing unwanted content and images the user could order food within a matter of minutes. The benefit of the grid system was that users could save their food order to a pattern, so if the user was drunk or stuck in meeting they can order their favourite food within seconds. Overall, I've loved every part of the brief, It's pushed me so far with understanding different devices and users, whilst also being heavily restricted by the screen size of the iWatch. The brief has made me a stronger designer and has only increased my love for digital design.
